Orchard Valley Youth Soccer League (OVYSL) is excited to sponsor a Grade 8 Referee Class in   April 2013.  This Class is for coaches, players and others that would like to get certified. Orchard Valley requires “Competitive” head coaches to have a Grade 8 referee license to coach.  Coaches who want to pursue a Coaches National D license require a Grade 8 referee license as a prerequisite. Participants must be 12 years or older.  

Who is eligible to participate?:
• Anyone 12 years or older.

Class size:
• Maximum of 25 Students.
• Minimum of 15 students.

April Session:
Class will consist of three sessions per week for two weeks.

Certification and Test criteria:
• On the final day of class there will be a one hour review followed by a written test consisting of 100 multiple choice and true and false questions.
• You must achieve a test score of 75% or better to pass the class.

Benefits of Certification:
• Participants will have an opportunity to learn the 17 Laws of the Game.
• Can potentially earn extra money by refereeing recreational and competitive matches as either a referee or assistant referee.
