Boys 2013 Black (Cont)
"Minutes into the second half, Villalobos scored the game winning goal to lead the Toros FC to a 2-1 victory. In the second game against their cross-town rivals, the Sentinels Soccer Club, the first half was scoreless. Right before the final whistle, Max Camire scored a goal to secure their 1-0 win.
In their third game against California Odyssey Soccer Club, after a 0-0 first half, Max Camire assisted Jay Nickles, who scored a breathtaking goal to take a 1-0 lead. Minutes later, Nickels scored another goal, assisted by Camire, to carry the Boys Black to a 2-0 victory.
In the final against Burlingame FC, the first half remained scoreless. After an action packed second half, the game resulted in a 0-0 tie and went into extra time. With one minute remaining in extra time, Toros goalkeeper Cayden Lewis made a game winning save on a corner kick. He quickly got the ball to Jaxson Galetto, who dribbled past one defender, and passed the ball to Max Camire who quickly took a shot on goal. Camire’s shot deflected off the Burlingame goalkeeper, straight to Jay Nickles, who tapped the ball into the back of the net for the game winning, and tournament winning, goal. The team celebrated their victory with their head coach, Joseph Amoah, who raced down the sideline in excitement!
The defense was led by Jameson Barrientos, Jack Englehardt, and A.J. Pinon. Alex Morales, Fernando Morales, and Rico Adame helped control the midfield/offensive side of the field."
